Job Description
We are looking for a Telecom Technician to join the team immediately. This position is a direct hire, permanent opportunity, with excellent benefits including a company vehicle, gas card and 100% of medical benefits covered!
This position will require that you are on project site 5 days per week - sites are in Baltimore, DC, NOVA, MD, and parts of DE.
Responsibilities include:
Installing telecommunications equipment, lines, and systems, such as telephones, fax machines, and uninterruptible power supplies
Establishing voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm and fire-suppression systems; building ironwork and ladder racks; establishing connections; programming features; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards; activating remote access tools; and coordinating with contractors.
Verifying service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
You will also be working with the electrical team and our client will pay for you to join an electrical apprenticeship program to obtain your Journeyman license. There is no requirement for an electrical background, and this is an added benefit to the position for growth potential and opportunity.
This position does require that you are able to obtain a government security clearance.

Skills and Requirements
3-6 years of experience as a telecommunications technician
Experience with installation of telecommunications equipment, power lines and systems
Experience with AV or electronic security equipment
Experience with basic networking protocols including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, WAN/LAN TCP/IP Any manufacturer or product certifications null
