Responsibilities*

Bio-psychosocial assessments
Patient advocacy
Case management services
Psycho-education
Adjustment to illness counseling
Crisis intervention
Safety planning
Grief counseling
Referrals to community resources
Coordination with medical teams/community agencies
Required Qualifications*
Desired Qualifications*
Previous experience with medical and mental health social work.
Previous experience working with adults with mental health concerns and complex psychosocial needs.
Familiarity in utilizing therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, Mindfulness.
Skilled in developing rapport and effectively communicating with a diverse patient population.
Efficient, accurate assessment of patient needs and effective case dispositions.
Effective organizational skills, flexibility, self-motivation, the ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks in a dynamic medical clinic.
Independent, sound decision-making is necessary for success in this position.
Effective collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary team.
Proficiency in keeping accurate and timely clinical records by computer.
Work Schedule
This is a 20 hour/week position. The typical schedule will fall between Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday with start and end times 8:00-4:30/8:30-5:00 and 8:00-12p/8:30-12:30p. This Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday schedule is flexible if other days of the week are desired by candidate and agreed by clinic.
Work Locations
Briarwood Building 3, Briarwood Medical Group 375 Briarwood Circle Ann Arbor, MI 48108. This position is anticipated to be a hybrid position. However, work location is adjusted as needed to accommodate patient care needs/volume. Candidates need to be flexible and willing to adjust between hybrid and onsite work as needed.
Underfill Statement
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Advancement through the career ladder at the Expert or Clinical Scholar Level is required for placement in the MSW Senior Classification.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
