Position Summary Academic Advisor positions in the College will be
housed in and work closely with the departments that coordinate the
students\' majors they are assigned. In addition to professional,
independent work advising students on course and program selection, this
position assists departments withinCAES with student recruitment and
retention, experiential learning and career development activities. The
advisor attends department meetings and work closely with department
faculty, gathering information to disseminate to students and providing
feedback to faculty to aid in department decisions. This role also
assist students in preparing for and participating in experiential
learning and other student enrichment activities. Advisors at this level
are expected to have full knowledge of resources that support students
in areas other than their academic life and to refer students to
