Client AccountantRequisition ID 2023-22236 Job Locations US-GA-Atlanta Position Type Regular Full-Time Category Finance & Accounting Business Unit BUS_TPA USExcellence In Everything We TouchPosition SummaryUnder the general direction of the Financial Reporting Manager, the Accountant-Client maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records while providing accurate and timely information.ResponsibilitiesPerforms root cause analysis of general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and acts to resolve any discrepancies found in the recording of financial transactions, to include making journal entries.Determines the appropriate amount to refund clients and provides recommendation to management for approvalReconciles and maintains the accuracy of client balances to include cash position.Identifies client specific ledger discrepancies and provides correcting journal entries as identified in the client reconciliation processIndependently performs detailed analysis of system claim payment data loaded into the client databaseProduces management reports summarizing reconciled transactionsCustomizes and transmits periodic statements to clients.Prepares escrow confirmations to identify the amount and source of escrow funding per the requests by clients or independent auditors.Assists in training and development of Analysts in department.Performs other related duties as required or requestedUpholds the Crawford Code of ConductRequirementsBachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance required1-3 years\' experience in accountingStrong knowledge of GAAPExcellent oral and written communication skills.Basic word processing knowledge, preferably Word.Strong spreadsheet knowledge, preferably Excel.Preferred:CPA or MBA PreferredAbout UsWhy Crawford?Because a claim is more than a number - it\'s a person, a child, a friend.
