Georgia Employer SURGERY/MULTI-SPECIALTY CODING EDUCATOR in Atlanta, Georgia

Under minimal supervision, provides applicable billing/coding and related reimbursement guidelines, to include federal/state laws and regulatory requirements affecting daily business operations applicable to Surgical Oncology. This information is researched and delivered to Providers and staff in the U.S. Oncology Network through face-to face communication, regular network publications, electronic and voice communications. Supports and adheres to The US Oncology Compliance program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Collaborate with Manager and department Director, peers and other department leads in the development and maintenance of reimbursement education materials, trends, and proactively identify topics of education for coding and billing compliance. This position requires a close working relationship with Providers and practice staff, and revenue cycle team members. Extensive knowledge of government regulations and applicable reimbursement laws and regulations required. Influencing skills of senior leaders to gain acceptance of best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesWorks with Providers and practice management to identify areas of opportunity for improvement for documentation, coding, and billing process. Provide education and guidance related to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding systems.Research, prepare, develop, and deliver subject matter material to The Network practice physicians, clinical team, and business staff via on-site, web based, and other methods of training related to documentation, coding and billing per HHS, CMS, Medicare, and other federal payor guidelines.Collaboration/partnering with Revenue Cycle Management regarding payer related issues.Researches, prepares, and develops coding material that will be presented to network practice physicians, clinical team, and business staff via on-site, web based, and other methods of training.Development of coding tools/ job aids in support of provided education.Presentation skills delivering coding changes, monthly and annual webinar.Consults with strategic program contacts, internal and external audit team management to align coding and billing education strategies.Minimum Requirements7+ years of relevant experienceCritical SkillsCurrent CPC or CCS-P certification or equivalent, 7+ years of relevant experienceCurrent with understanding Compliance and Regulatory GuidelinesFour (4+) Years direct experience in coding, medical records, and reimbursementFour (3+) Years\' experience working directly with and training Physicians and staffProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.Must be familiar with government regulations and applicable reimbursement laws and regulationsThorough knowledge of CPT-4 procedural coding methodologywithICD-10 and HCPCS codingInstructional educational experience, training small and large groupsAdditional Knowledge & SkillsBachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Healthcare Administration, preferredInstructional educational experience with a CPC-I or like credential preferredEducation4-year degree in related field or equivalent experienceTravelMust be available for up to but not limited to 25% travelAt McKesson, we care about the well-being of the patients and communities we serve, and that starts with caring for our people.
