Essential functions and responsibilities
Teach swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
Ensuring that the swimming pool is clean and tidy.
It is typically expected that a swim instructor will also provide coverage as a pool attendant or lifeguard.
Job requirements
Current Lifeguard Certification Preferred
Current CPR/AED Certification Required
Red Cross Aquatics Safety Training required within 30 days of hire
Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules.
