Ascension Health Occupational Therapist, PRN in Baltimore, Maryland


  • Pay From: $47.40/hour

  • Department: Inpatient

  • Schedule: As needed 8am-4:30pm with variable hours based on staffing needs and caseload, including weekdays and weekends. Options:

Tier 1: 3 full shifts per 6-week schedule, minimum of 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule. Required to work 1 winter holiday shift

Tier 2: 6 full shifts per 6-week schedule, minimum of 2 weekends shift per 6-week schedule. Required to work 2 holidays shift (1 in winter and 1 in summer)

Tier 3: 10 full shifts per 6-week schedule, minimum of 3 weekends shift per 6-week schedule. Required to work 3 holidays shift (2 in winter and 1 in summer)

Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.

  • Assess patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.

  • Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.

  • Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.

  • Document finding of patient progress.

  • Monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.

  • Seek consultation as necessary.

  • Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

  • Plan and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.

  • Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistant and therapy 3-Technician according to established regulation and practice standard.


Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Drivers License credentialed from the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles preferred.


  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Several tiers are available. Can include weekdays and/or weekends, most scheduled in advance but also can include availability due to census/call-outs.
