Position Summary: Milacron is looking for a Sr. Mechanical R&D Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. As an R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for the identification, design, development, documentation, support, and maintenance of solutions for new technologies and sub-systems. You will possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pulleys, transfer stands, and integration with electrical systems, motors, and actuators. Work You'll Do: Create concepts, review, and approve hardware for trials and technology demonstrations Design, develop, and test sub-systems and functional test systems from initial concept to full scale development Evaluate and implement current and future technologies and requirements in mechanical systems Analyze, evaluate, improve, or develop control mechanisms for specific applications or machine types, and document them. Explore pre-gate technologies in other products and develop tools to rate technologies and integration Adhere to stage-gate process Ensure on-time delivery of hardware and software for sub-system trials within budget Maintain a safe and hazard-free workspace and testing environment Team: The R&D Engineering Team consists of engineers working together to Shape What Matters For Tomorrow by partnering with customers to deliver plastic processing solutions for a wide range of applications. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher with a concentration in mechanical or software engineering or related 5-7+ years of experience working with research of mechanical systems Basic knowledge of NEC, CE, EMC Directives, and agile development methodology Understanding of remote sensing and hardware requirements Demonstrated experience using analytical software (Matlab, Motorpro, Maplesim , CREO, Ansys, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with an international team Proven technical, analytical, creative, and innovative problem-solving results in a hybrid environment #LI-AP1 #LI-ONSITE Who we are: Milacron is a global leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of highly engineered and customized systems within the $27 billion plastic technology and processing industry.
