The Specialty Manufacturing General Manager will ensure overall profitability, formulate strategic business plans across the company and implement the necessary tools/processes to work smarter and grow profitability. This includes the management of the total performance of an $8 million specialty manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities:
Provide clear and consistent sales and production metrics and status reporting to the CEO on all areas of divisional performance and customer satisfaction.
Assume primary responsibility for the successful coordination, teamwork, and execution of sales and production functions within the division.
Lead with safety, quality, value and craftsmanship.
Ensure delivery required training.
- Customer Relationship and Support:
Lead support of sales and manufacturer rep initiatives through industry and executive relationships.
Ensure open and clear communication exists between sales, production and manufacturing teams.
Direct and assist sales when possible in the identification and qualification of new business opportunities within established and new markets.
- Team and Individual Leadership:
Demonstrate leadership abilities by setting example for the other members of the division in a high level of integrity, work ethics, personal discipline and overall stewardship of company assets.
Motivate and establish the expectations and needs of the sales and production team members.
Identify and employ industry best practices to guide the division to efficient and successful product delivery.
Mentor sales and production managers in sales, sheet metal and management disciplines required for them to produce effectively and advance to the next level.
Solid background of SHEET METAL MANUFACTURING with at least 15 years of prior production management experience with HVAC Sheet Metal Duct preferred.
Able to direct sales and production functions to perform at their maximum potential.
Able to set goals to surpass and continually improve the company's sales, safety, quality and productivity targets.
Ability to mentor and direct all levels of management.
Proven track record in the directing of divisional continuous improvement programs and projects.
Excellent employee motivation and employee relation skills.
Strong resource management skills.
BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge and/or participation in ASHRAE and SMACNA organizations.
Position requires travel to other company facilities, trade shows, manufacturer reps and customers.
