Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles and a proactive approach to managing financial processes.
Responsibilities:
• Record and manage daily bank transactions for multiple operating entities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain and update fixed asset records, including new purchases and capital expenditures.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Post recurring journal entries, such as depreciation, interest, and accruals.
• Support the onboarding of new facilities into the accounting system.
• Collaborate with the Controller to enhance reporting processes and improve accounting workflows.
• Prepare schedules and documentation to facilitate audit readiness
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience with a focus on accuracy and detail.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Proficient in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
