Sarah Seneca Residential Services Lead Direct Support Professional in Branford, Connecticut

SARAH SENECA Residential Services is an agency that supports individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities in residential settings.

The lead direct support professional will be the medical liaison for the group home. This includes scheduling doctor appointments, medical follow-up, ordering medications and medical supplies, and working closely with the nurse. The lead staff will assist the Program Manager with the house schedule and recreation calendar.

Lead Staffwill support individuals served in maintaining a lifestyle which promotes individuality, responsibility, and dignity.

-The

Lead Staffposition will carry greater responsibility than that of other Support Staff

.

-The

Lead Staffperson will act on behalf of the program site Manager in his/her absence, assume and carry out all delegated responsibilities as assigned.

-The

Lead Staffwill assist in training new staff and ensuring staff compliance.

-The

Lead Staffwill act as the medical liaison for the group home.

-The

Lead Staffwill have some supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Driver's license

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrate at least two years of previous experience with developmental disabilities and residential services.
  • DDS Medication Certification must be valid and current at time of application.
  • Working knowledge of ADL skills. (i.e. banking, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, money management, etc.)
