Description We are in search of an Administrative Assistant to work at our Higher Education institution located in Brooklyn, New York. This role involves a wide range of administrative tasks such as answering inbound calls, providing customer service, data entry, and email correspondence. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity that offers an engaging work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Respond to inbound calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Carry out data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Manage regular email correspondence, ensuring all communications are responded to in a timely manner
• Use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) to prepare documents, reports, and presentations
• Schedule appointments and meetings as required, ensuring efficient coordination of calendars
• Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally, maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor
• Implement and maintain a filing system for easy data retrieval and better organization
• Assist in other administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the office. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
• Experience in answering inbound and outbound calls
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proven experience in data entry tasks
• Ability to manage email correspondence efficiently
• Experience in scheduling appointments
• Ability to adapt to new software and technologies quickly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
• Experience in a higher education setting is desirable but not mandatory
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
