Position Overview:

The Charge Nurse will serve as the clinical leader on the unit and will be responsible for coordinating nursing care for patients on assigned unit. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Effectively provides age appropriate care. Important dimensions of this position consist of Clinical Judgment and Quality of Care; Caring Practices; Ethical Practice and Response to Diversity; Systems Effectiveness; Clinical Inquiry and Learning; and Leadership and Collaboration. These dimensions incorporate the competencies defined by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

The Charge Nurse may have the opportunity to advance to other clinical or leadership positions in the organization based on education, experience, and career goals.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required

  • BSN Preferred

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • Registered Nurse - CA State Licensure - RN Required

  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP Required

  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring - AFM Required

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years previous clinical experience in L&D and OB nursing and previous experience in nursery

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Basic computer skills. Effective communication skills.

Pay Range is $80.77 to $109.29 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
