Standard Hours – 100% in office role. Monday, Wednesday, Friday (8:00a-4:30p) and Tuesdays/Thursdays (10:30a-7:00p)

A day in the role…

  • Sitting at the front desk when the patient walks in, checking them in and out. Patient registration, scheduling follow up appointments, check in, check out.

  • General customer service to all patients for whatever they may need.

  • Answering all phone calls as they come in, helping patients with whatever they may need.

  • Documenting Doctor's notes on the patient files in the EMR system they use - they use a couple systems

  • Calling insurance companies to obtain authorizations and going on payer websites to verify patients' insurance and coverage.

  • Multi Tasking with a doctor needing things from them, the patients being in front of them, and the phones ringing.

  • Will be on the phones 33% of the time, on the computer 33% of the time, and helping patients 33% of the time.

  • Send thank you notes to doctors for referrals

  • Help out with marketing in the community to get more referrals

Necessary Skills and Strengths:

EMR/EHR Systems | Patient Scheduling Experience | Insurance Payer Knowledge | Medical Terminology | Insurance Verifications and Authorizations | Medical, Insurance | Patient Registration | Medical Terminology | Medicaid

Core Experience:

  • Medical Receptionist Experience (1+ years)

  • Insurance Payer Knowledge

  • Medical Office Experience
