We are looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join our team in the Chicago land area with lots of remote flexibility. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting and expertise in auditing privately held companies and employee benefit plans.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits for privately held businesses and employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Manage all phases of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.

• Collaborate with clients to understand their financial processes and provide valuable insights.

• Review and analyze accounting systems and financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Develop and implement audit programs tailored to client needs and industry requirements.

• Utilize accounting software systems such as CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx to streamline audit processes.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff during audit engagements.

• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.

• Stay updated on changes in auditing standards and industry regulations.

• Assist in identifying opportunities for improving client operations and financial practices.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on auditing.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx.

• Strong knowledge of audit programs and processes for privately held companies and benefit plans.

• Ability to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

• CPA certification or progress towards obtaining it is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with current auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
