The Creative Content Writer and Video Producer position exists to use creativity, outside the box thinking, and a donor-centric perspective to write engaging print and video copy, and edit short videos, to inspire donors to financially support Focus on the Family. We are looking for high energy, creative wordsmith to bring extraordinary stories into the donor’s giving journey.
In the most creative, unique, and memorable way, this position creates content and manages the processes to get it out the door – a lot of creativity plus some administrative tasks. This role involves storytelling and inspiring donors, supporting the department’s mission to raise funds for the ministry. We are seeking an extraordinary creative to join the team and create emotive, captivating content. This position will take the donor on a journey, recognizing the importance of the story and the spiritual and emotional experience as they consume content
Develops inspiring scripts, talking points, and email templates to assist the donor reps in telling powerful stories about ministry initiatives and the impact on constituents
Inspires the reader through creative content to tell the story of lives changed and ministry programs that are made possible through donor giving
Interviews ministry leaders for updates and powerful stories of life change from ministry programs and initiatives, then crafts stories and content to inspire donors to give
Contributes to the monthly and annual communication strategy
Organizes all relevant logistics to create content at film/photo shoots and donor events
Creates, edits, and produces video content, infographics, quotes, and slides
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., printed pieces, voice work, photography, video, music, etc.) for distribution in all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, DVD and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which will be for the benefit of Focus on the Family
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

May be required to travel 10-25% of the year including nights and weekends

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred
3-5 years of writing and editing experience to include content management, project management of content editing or similar functions
Video camera operation and set up; Video shot framing and pre-production; Production and editing experience in Adobe Premiere
Knowledge of digital content best practices
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and an image management system (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) or equivalent preferred
Experience with content creation and curation
Has insight into—and the ability to incorporate—biblical passages and principles in communication pieces

Salary Range: $58,236 to $67,077/yr
