Infinity is seeking a DevSecOps Platform Engineer to support the NISSC II contract. Your career at Infinity enables NISSC to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at NISSC sites.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer mission to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.
The Platform Engineer is responsible for Kubernetes platform and security design, configuration, and testing activities for NISSC II projects. As a Platform Engineer you will be responsible for deploying automation and best practices for production & non-production environments for mission critical applications. This role will manage and maintain software configurations in test, development, and production environments and support the Kubernetes Architects to deliver cutting-edge capabilities and functionality to warfighter.
Researching tools and developing the Kubernetes Platform, to include processes, standards, and procedures
Working with Software developers to hone the Kubernetes Platform to assist in effective delivery of new and future software features
Providing technical guidance and performing tasks related researching, and implementing various tools and applications while supporting DoD RMF best practices
Analyzing and demonstrating new strategies for application builds/package stages and related processes to improve automation for continuous delivery of program components
Assisting with evaluating pipeline activities and processes, implementing tools, and developing procedures for streamlining delivery activities
Evaluating and recommending new procedures and techniques for improvements within a modern framework which includes Kubernetes, container services, and automation tools
Reviewing methods for using tools related to building software like Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Harbor, Nexus, Jira, Gitlab
Preparing and delivering team progress reports and briefs for stakeholder engagements
Engaging and contributing to team activities which follow the Agile framework
Minimum Qualifications
4 or more years of experience performing sysadmin related job functions
4 or more years of more recent experience working directly with developer tools and instrumentation
Proficiency in Kubernetes-based container administration
Experience securing a Kubernetes-based platform
Knowledge on how to troubleshoot and resolve Kubernetes platform technical issues in test and production environments
Experience with Kubernetes and container deployments using YAML, Unix shell scripting, PowerShell, or similar command-line interfaces
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification
Demonstrated capabilities in industry best practices surrounding software builds along with CI/CD pipeline management including unit tests, security scans, artifact repository usage, Maven and Gradle, and use of software development tooling
Experience in DevSecOps to include phases, gates, and stages
Strong IT hardware and operations background with hands-on expertise in servers, storage and network device installation, provisioning, and monitoring
VMware environment administration, configuration, and monitoring.
Experience in software development; including an understanding of the development process from end-to-end (use of git, package managers, remote repositories, branching strategies, scripting, and dependency management)
Applicable experience in a developer’s role and ability to contribute to improving the developer experience
Systems administrator and RMF experience in DoD
Capable of multi-tasking
Talent for problem solving, problem resolution, and skilled in deconflicting priorities
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience OR 8 years minimum of experience and a Security+ 8570 IAT Level II or equivalent or any combination of experience/education in lieu of degree.
