(Senior) Director, Portfolio Decision Science
The (Senior) Director, Portfolio Decision Scientist will play a pivotal role as a strategic advisor and leader, partnering with senior leadership and project teams to embed decision quality processes that drive substantial value across Lundbeck. This influential position demands an experienced professional with a track record in leveraging decision analysis methodologies and advanced modelling techniques to spearhead strategic initiatives and enhance decision-making processes at the highest organizational levels.
Your new role
The role will include the following key responsibilities.
Strategic Consultation and Facilitation:
Act as an internal consultant, partnering with project teams to provide expertise in decision analysis and modelling.
Apply structured decision-making processes and utilize advanced modelling techniques to evaluate potential outcomes and guide complex strategic and operational decisions.
Guide project teams through scenario planning, risk assessment, and sensitivity analysis to inform strategic choices.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to ensure clarity in decision objectives, alternatives, and trade-offs.
Ensure that decision-making processes are transparent, inclusive, and aligned with organizational goals.
Governance and Process Enhancement:
Establish standardized processes and tools to support consistent application of decision analysis across the organization.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of decision-making processes, recommending improvements as necessary.
Capability Building and Mentorship:
Provide training and mentorship to project teams and stakeholders on decision analysis methodologies and best practices.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning in decision quality across the organization.
Develop case studies and share success stories to demonstrate the value of decision quality initiatives.
Your future team
Corporate and Portfolio Strategy is part of Global Commercial and Corporate Strategy, which is a key function to bridge R&D and Commercial Operations. You will join a cross-functional portfolio management community to drive portfolio excellence and elevate organizational decision quality.
The position is based in Valby, Denmark. Hybrid/Remote working could be discussed.
What you bring to the team
Qualifications:
Education: Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in Decision Science, Operations Research, Business Administration (MBA), Life Sciences, or a related field.
Experience: 12+ years of experience in decision analysis, strategic facilitation, or a related discipline, with accomplishments in implementing decision quality processes and delivering measurable value.
Skills:
Proficiency in decision analysis methodologies, including decision trees, Monte Carlo simulation, and multi-criteria decision analysis.
Advanced modelling abilities, with experience in software tools such as Analytica, DPL, @RISK, or other decision analysis platforms.
Effective facilitation and communication skills, capable of leading discussions and presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels within the organization.
Mindset:
Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a commitment to promoting a culture of high-quality decision-making.
