Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Dayton, Ohio

Description

• Review and edit operator-written work instructions to improve grammar, technical accuracy, and formatting consistency.

• Ensure all instructions comply with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100), company procedures, and engineering drawings/specifications.

• Collaborate with operators, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to clarify process steps and capture tribal knowledge in a standardized format.

• Assist in translating complex technical procedures into clear, user-friendly instructions suitable for operators on the shop floor.

• Update and maintain documentation in the company’s document management systems, Epicor.

• Support process improvement efforts by identifying discrepancies or inefficiencies in current work instructions.

• Assist in the creation of visual aids such as photos, diagrams, or flowcharts to accompany written instructions when necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working under aerospace quality systems (AS9100, NADCAP).

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

• Technical writing or editing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, bonding, inspection) is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
