The Sr,. Material Flow Engineer will develop & drive the vision of the Plant Materials team to become a World Class Lean Operation. This individual will guide the implementation of Lean including PFEP Methodologies (Plan for Every Part), SPF (Single Piece Flow), and other Lean Principles. This role is 100% on-site.

How You'll Create Possibilities

The successful candidate will provide guidance to operational leaders and experience with high volume manufacturing with a history of successful problem resolution. The Sr. Material Flow Engineer will optimize space, transportation, equipment, and conveyance within the manufacturing and inbound warehouses. This person will be responsible for developing lean material flow processes and systems and providing creative and forward-thinking solutions to the material flow process including supply base capabilities, material handling, and material control systems.

  • Lead plant material flow & supplier management plans in support of the Appliance Production System (APS)

  • Own and maintain the PFEP (i.e. item dimensions, storage locations, supplier information, box and part weight/dimensions, usage statistics, etc.); reduce waste and increase productivity

  • Develop/Own delivery plans, transportation plans, packaging plans, shop floor flow, and supermarket implementation for all parts

  • Lead the deployment of standardized work within the materials department; Drive process stability through the execution of standardized work

  • Interface with Shop Operations, Quality, Site Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), Sourcing, Manufacturing Engineer and New Product Implementation teams

  • Implement and manage processes to ensure appropriate space needed for projected inventory levels

  • Drive projects in partnership with the material planning team, supplier quality, and sourcing to drive efficiencies and inventory transaction accuracy

  • Manage respective transportation and logistics costs to reduce inventory and drive productivity

  • Develop and improve IT tools and systems used in Materials to take cost out and simplify processes

  • Develop and lead Senior Management updates for key projects and Initiatives

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, supply chain management or business

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within supply chain (i.e.: manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, materials, quality, procurement, fulfillment or related functional area), and/or equivalent experience and education

  • Lean Manufacturing experience (implementation and continuous improvement)

  • Experience with time studies/material flow

  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals at all levels of the organization to achieve operational results

  • High level of initiative, energy and motivation to develop & grow in a team environment

  • Organizational skills, initiative, and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks

  • Strong technical competency and experience

  • Production-oriented and hands-on

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through ability

  • Ability to facilitate team projects

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge including coding and robotic languages as well as Auto Cad and MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, supplier management and project implementation

  • Six Sigma certification

  • Demonstrated accomplishments showing results-driven methodology, analytical methods, schedule achievement, team-work, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and leadership influencing skills
