Your Role

Join the dynamic Contract Logistics team at Kuehne + Nagel, where exciting new opportunities are on the rise across a diverse customer portfolio. With the current role holder taking on a new challenge, we're seeking a Contingent Operational Stocks and Readiness Planner. In this role, you'll work closely with the Head of Future Plans, coordinating activities with MOD stores.

Your Responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of Future Plans, be responsible for the SD&F planning activities for contingent operations to ensure that KN is able to react to and deliver the MOD Controlled Stores (CS) at the agreed levels of readiness

  • Maintain the inventory of pre-packed Standard Stock Modules (SSM) to appropriate fill levels to allow the customer to embark on training/operations with those modules as requested

  • Responsible for reporting to the SLT on any planning and modelling of the KN contingent operations lift and surge capacity and the calculation of resources required in the Base Depot on a continual basis in support of the customer’s forward planning cycles

  • Maintain the skills necessary to facilitate an outload of CS in volume and at pace

  • Liaise with the customer to improve their expectations

  • Plan and manage SSM within the storage estate, providing intelligence in the optimal method of storage, issuing and handling of CS

  • Be capable to operate from home but flexible to visit sites as required

  • Undertake any reasonable task and special projects as directed through Hd FP

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Significant experience in a client focused contract logistics environment

  • Experience within an industrial, line feed / manufacturing environment

  • Direct customer relationship ownership experience. On site client experience would also be advantageous

  • Coaching and mentoring experience

  • Understanding of site financials/interpreting a P&L

  • Experience of managing Trade Union relationships

  • MOD WMS experience and advanced PC and system skills

  • In depth knowledge of health and safety at work

  • Understanding and implementation of continuous improvement
