SME Payment Consultant - AIB Merchant Services

What does a successful SME Payment Consultant do?

The candidate will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales opportunities. In order to be successful in this role and meet or exceed quota, this candidate should feel comfortable communicating with prospects via phone and email who are discovered through a variety of avenues.

What you will do:

  • Set in place a plan of clear strategies and methodologies for all stages of generating new business ( from prospecting to proposal to closure)

  • Undertaking self-generated outbound sales calls in order to meet both personal and team weekly targets

  • Identifying customer needs effectively in order to maximize all sales opportunities and meet customer expectations

  • Engaging positively with prospective customers to ensure an understanding of products and services and maintaining an adequate lead to conversion rate

  • Up-selling and cross-selling to new business prospects and existing customers

  • Delivering exceptional service to prospective and existing AIBMS customers , including transferring customer support calls to the help desk where appropriate

  • Ensuring that all activity is completed in line with Risk and Compliance guidelines

What you will need to have:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a telephone based sales role and proven track record in achieving targets in a B2B service based industry.

  • Exhibit exceptional track records in identifying and prospecting new business opportunities.

  • Experience of achieving success against challenging targets with complex sales cycle and product requirements.

  • This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations. Commitment to adhere to the IAF Conduct Standards is a requirement for this role.
