Job Title: Assembler / Machine Builder
Job Description
We are looking to add assemblers/machine builders to our team in Evansville. As an assembler, you will be responsible for assembling and building custom fuel handling systems. This will involve reading blueprints and utilizing basic hand tools to fully assemble the equipment. The systems range from standard gas pumps to large-scale industrial pumping and storage systems. You will complete all work in our Evansville shop and collaborate with production managers, shop leads, engineers, welders, and electricians to ensure all mechanical components meet specifications.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints to fully understand the mechanical layout of specific equipment.
Utilize hand tools, fasteners, and other components to fully assemble/build equipment to specifications.
Troubleshoot unforeseen problems with oversized parts, design flaws, etc.
Communicate with electrical, welding, and engineering teams to resolve product assembly issues.
Basic installation of wiring on certain equipment if experienced, including knowledge of electrical schematics.
Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Position parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements.
Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies.
Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
Resolve assembly problems to meet specifications and notify the supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, and logging part numbers on order sheets for purchasing.
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Essential Skills
1+ years of mechanical troubleshooting or assembly experience.
1+ years of blueprint reading experience.
1+ years of experience with hand/power tools.
Basic math and communication skills.
Mechanical inspection and quality focus.
Decision-making skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Additional Good-to-Have Skills & Qualifications
Experience building custom machinery/equipment.
Electrical wiring and schematic reading experience.
Welding or machining experience.
2+ years' experience in general assembly work or specialized training.

Work Environment
This is a small job shop facility. It is non-climate controlled and can become hot during summer and cool during winter. The shop is fairly clean, although some areas, such as the welding shop and powder coat/paint shop may vary. By early 2019, the assembly shop will be moved to a climate-controlled area.
Shifts are 1st Shift M-F, 7:30 AM-4 PM, with 1-2 Saturdays per month, depending on workload. During busy periods, shifts may start at 6 AM and candidates should be prepared to work 50-55 hours/week with 10-20 total OT hours/week.
$19-$21/Hr in Evansvile, IN!
