As an Airplane Safety Engineering Senior Manager, you will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure airplane level safety analysis are appropriately executed. Leaders in our organization must build relationships, collaborate with program leadership teams, and find ways to drive continuous improvement.

In this role you will report directly to the Executive Director of Airplane Safety Engineering and lead a team of managers and engineers. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the execution of the required safety analysis to certify the MAX aircraft family.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a necessity in this role. A successful candidate will understand the complex integration of airplane systems, human factors, and airplane integration into the operational environment. In addition to a strong technical background you must be reliable, trustworthy, and accountable for delivering results.

Airplane Safety deliverables directly feed airplane compliance and require an extreme attention to detail as well as a healthy engineering curiosity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of safety analysis on 737 MAX aircraft family

  • Identify efficiency opportunities in execution of safety processes across airplane programs

  • Provide integrated views of path to program milestones and identify risks and opportunities accordingly

  • Integrate safety plan with program master schedule to ensure plan is integrated to support certification milestones

  • Positively shape and contribute to the Airplane Safety Engineering culture of collaboration and engineering excellence

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership to cross functional engineering projects

  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering related role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Senior management experience in a related area of airplane development

  • Experience with Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, and Airplane Safety

  • Prior experience with airplane development programs

  • Experience with System Safety industry best and ARP4754, MIL-STD-882, NASA-STD 8719, etc.)

  • Engineering background in at least one of the following disciplines: Airframe, Flight Sciences, Flight Test, Interiors, Propulsion, or Systems, and an understanding of certification processes

  • Experience mentoring, developing and growing team members

  • Experience with leading technical cross functional teams, working across organizational boundaries, and ensuring an inclusive environment

  • Skilled at process optimization and lean methodologies

Summary pay range Manager L - $166,600.00 - $225,400.00
