Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team in Glen Allen, Virginia. In this role, you will manage various aspects of the e-billing process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit client invoices using e-billing platforms while adhering to client-specific requirements and company policies.
• Address and resolve issues related to rejected or disputed invoices in collaboration with billing coordinators and attorneys.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries about billing, payments, and adjustments, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain e-billing system records, including client profiles, billing codes, and rate tables, keeping them up to date and accurate.
• Generate and analyze reports to assess billing performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure all billing activities align with legal, regulatory, and company compliance standards.
• Provide training and support to staff on e-billing processes, offering guidance on best practices.
• Assist in the implementation and testing of new e-billing platforms or upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Maintain thorough documentation of billing submissions, adjustments, and communications for auditing purposes.
• Collaborate on special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives within the billing department. Requirements • 2-4 years of experience in billing, e-billing, or accounting, preferably in a law firm or detail-oriented services setting.
• Proficiency with e-billing platforms such as Serengeti, TyMetrix, or similar systems.
• Solid understanding of billing processes, legal billing guidelines, and financial principles.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to manage and analyze data accurately.
• Familiarity with legal practice management software such as PerfectLaw or Aderant is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to new systems and processes, contributing to team success.
