We are searching for an accomplished grill cook to create meals in accordance with our menu. The grill cook's responsibilities include, preparing ingredients/meals, informing waitstaff when orders are ready, and cleaning the grill and work area after each shift. Other responsibilities include monitoring inventory to ensure that the restaurant has sufficient supplies at all times. To be successful as a grill cook, you should be a skilled multi-tasker who adheres to food safety codes, uses good communication skills, and works well with a team. Grill cook reports directly to Executive Chef and Restaurant General Manager.Duties/Skills: Slicing, cutting, shredding, tenderizing, grilling, frying, etc. Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods. Continually checking that ingredients remain fresh and safe for consumption. Preventing cross-contamination. Preparing meals in accordance with the restaurant menu. Tracking the components of each meal to ensure that the final dish is completed in a timely manner. Communicating with waitstaff and other kitchen personnel, along with management. Ensuring your work station remains clean and orderly at all times. Inform management when equipment is due for maintenance, repair, or replacement. Tracking inventory to ensure that the restaurant always has adequate supplies.Grill Cook Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent Prior experience as a cook, preferable, but we are willing to train the right person. Desire for continuous learning and professional development. Thorough knowledge of food safety guidelines. Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and time management. Commitment to the production of high quality outputs and excellent customer service. Capacity to stand for several hours. Ability to work in close proximity to others. Ability to work a variety of shifts; including day shifts, night shifts, weekends and some holidays. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward.
