Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is an experienced, results & production oriented, hands-on progressive leader, with the potential to advance within the organization, which can drive synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance. This position is responsible for the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Departments, which ultimately play a significant role in the success of the plant. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;
Responsible for formulating and developing goals and objectives and directing day-to-day activities. Manage maintenance and electrical employees
Initiating and drive operational enhancements and improvements
Determining equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs and reviews and update written maintenance instructions and schedules
Analyzing and trouble-shoot major downtime events using structured problem solving tools
Working closely with Maintenance team and other departments to implement cost saving measures
Setting and monitor maintenance performance targets both short and long term
Providing highly developed leadership, change management, interpersonal communication and people skills to help drive plant performance
Hiring and develop maintenance team members towards attainment of their potential
Aggressively cultivate and promote a positive and innovative work environment
Addressing all safety concerns either raised by employees or from safety audits. Advise workers and management of any potential or actual hazards and complete Incident Investigations and ensure corrective measures are taken when necessary. Ensure policies, procedures and practices are strictly adhered to.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or substantial equivalent experience
· Minimum 5+ progressive years in operations as a Maintenance Supervisor
· Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred with Lean Manufacturing experience (required)
· Excellent customer service focus and results oriented, strong interpersonal and team building skills. With excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
· Strong knowledge of CMMS programs such as Maximo
· Analytical, data-driven problem solving and action planning skills
· Proven track record in continuous improvement and cost reductions and increased productivity
· Experience in a union environment with strong labor relations skills and ability to empower, supervise and direct a diverse workforce. Experience in holding employees accountable for working safely and providing a safe work environment
· Analytical and computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access
· Bilingual, ability to speak, read and write in English and French
