Leads and manages the Materials Engineering team for Energy Supply (ES), which provides technical direction in materials engineering, welding engineering, non-destructive examination, codes and standards, plant life management, and equipment repair recommendations. Develops, implements, and continuously improves Materials standards and practices. Ensures compliance with state and federal repair codes and standards.
Establishes Materials program policies, standards, and practices. Ensures consistent application of these policies and standards across ES. Monitors effective implementation through quantifiable metrics. Drives process improvement by deploying lessons learned across the fleet.
Provides leadership for code repair services, welding programs, metallurgy services, and use of materials laboratories. Approves testing procedures. Oversees deployment of new analytical techniques and services to meet customer expectations, codes, standards, and regulations. Provides analytical and specialized metals & materials services.
Leads Plant Life Management programs for ES. Implements programs to effectively manage the large safety, financial, and reliability risks that would result from the failure of certain plant components (i.e., high energy piping hangers, heavy wall headers, pressure vessels and steam drums, etc.) which are not covered by normal routine maintenance activities.
Establishes and manages the ES non-destructive examination program (NDE). Implements NDE procedures to ensure required services are available and a quality assurance program is utilized. Leads initiatives to develop technological innovations to support non-destructive test processes, procedures, and programs.
Monitors compliance with repair codes used by ES to perform certifiable repairs to high-energy systems and equipment. Ensures regulatory compliance by establishing training, work processes & reporting, certifications, and programs. Develops and implements a weld manual in compliance with state and national regulations. Oversees accreditation/certification of the R-Stamp/Owner Repair program in all regions. Maintains effective relationships with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure achievement of business goals and regulatory compliance objectives.
Clearly communicates performance expectations and work assignments. Develops a culture of high performance, personal accountability, and continuous improvement. Hires, trains, develops, coaches, and manages performance of staff to ensure personnel are adequately trained to work safely and effectively.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Seven years of experience in power generation and/or the energy industry. In-depth knowledge of power plant operation and maintenance is essential. Expertise in the areas of welding metallurgy, and working with regulatory agencies is desired. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and management skills required. Must be able to lead cultural change. Travel up to 25% required.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $105,600.00 to $150,000.00 per year
