Robert Half Sr. Contracts Administrator in Herndon, Virginia

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Government Contracting industry. Located in Herndon, Virginia, this role primarily involves the handling and administration of contracts, with a focus on accounting tasks and functions. The role is remote, providing flexibility in terms of workplace. This position offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Apply negotiated indirect rates for each fiscal year and perform closeout for all incurred cost submission rate changes.

• Interpret, extract, review, and analyze accounting data to prepare accurate reports.

• Maintain a tracking system to monitor when contracts are received for closeout, contract types, etc.

• Analyze unbilled receivable balances, recovery of revenue, and conduct backup spreadsheets.

• Execute contract closeout procedures.

• Validate, analyze and interpret contract and subcontract documentations and invoice dates to ensure compliance.

• Close contracts by reconciling the committed, obligated, expended, and disbursed histories.

• Coordinate with program manager, finance, subcontract manager, billing director, and contracts manager.

• Support multiple actions related to overall contract closeout.

• Proficient in using tools such as Costpoint, SharePoint, Cognos, Excel for contract management and accounting tasks. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Government Contracting industry

• Proficiency in performing Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, and SharePoint

• Familiarity with Contracts Finance, Contracts, Contract Closeout, and Project Closeout

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
