RMC is hiring for a Radar Technical Advisor to support our customer at Hill AFB in Ogden, UT. The selected applicant will act as a subject matter expert on a variety of assigned complex radar systems and associated equipment. The selected applicant will provide technical support for a variety of complex radar systems including, but not limited to:

  • Providing sound technical guidance on recommendations to senior leaders and maintenance technicians.

  • Preparing written report, briefings, and recommendations.

  • Accurately determining system condition through extensive test measurement and analysis.

  • Developing evaluation test objectives based on user requirements and system capabilities/limitations.

  • Supporting the squadron and the commander in various areas of program/project development, planning, and evaluation.

  • Organizing radar evaluations, set objectives, and assisting in establishing standards of performance to meet mission requirements.

  • Coordinating directly with the team on recommendations for acquisition and modifications.

  • Accurately documenting equipment condition, performance, system interface, and project status.

  • Collecting and analyzing data from a variety of radar systems and data processors.

  • Effectively applying knowledge of radar analysis technologies and testing in maintaining, analyzing, and directing restoration of radar performance to optimal levels.

  • Clearly expressing radar data analysis, concepts, ideas, and results to management.

  • Conducting formal and informal training on equipment, components, and procedures to include developing, producing, teaching, and evaluating all course curricula.

  • Technically managing all personnel dedicated to an assigned program or project.


The selected applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical Engineer or related technical discipline and 8+ years radar systems engineering experience. An associate degree in a related technical discipline and 16+ years working with a variety of complex radar systems and associated equipment, including 7+ years performing radar evaluations, may be substituted.

The applicant must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of electronics and ground radar equipment operations, techniques, practices, repair, evaluation, and analysis. Knowledge of long-range radar data collection and performance analyses.

  • Knowledge of moderate computer programming and use of various programs, spread sheets, and data base systems for data collection and analysis.

  • Knowledge of moderate statistical and mathematical modeling with application towards data analysis and evaluation of sensors.

  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, bulletins, technical manuals and specifications related to radar systems and associated equipment.

  • Ability to test and evaluate the capabilities of ground radar equipment, facilities, and special sensor systems.

  • Ability to identify operational deficiencies of ground radar equipment and sensor systems through various methods to include automated technologies to recommend corrective action.

  • Extensive overall knowledge of the impact of man-made obstructions, wind turbines, and large wind farms have on FAA, DoD, and DHS long range, short range, and beacon radar systems and extensive specific knowledge of the impact of wind turbines and large wind farms have on long range radar systems.

Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
