Honeywell Director Digital Transformation and Planning in Houston, Texas

Honeywell PMT, SETS is seeking a Strategy and Planning/PMO leader to help drive digital innovation, identifying emerging technologies, trends, and commercial opportunities relevant to industry and business objectives, and manage and support opportunities through ownership of the strategy and planning/PMO process. The successful candidate will have a passion for exploring and aligning emerging technologies to business problems, and a background in strategy and planning. This role will be critical in representing the HPS/SETS IT organization, partnering with the HPS/SETS CIO as de facto Chief of Staff, but work within a matrixed model, driving innovation and thought leadership for key business units in the Industrial Automation domain.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Transformation and Innovation Leadership:

  • Build the structure and approach for defining ambiguous and complex business problems and translating analysis into clear use cases, actionable insights, and recommendations

  • Develop a deep understanding of SBU business strategies, objectives, and priorities to partner and collaborate effectively in the development of the digital transformation strategy and roadmap

  • Conduct research, analysis, benchmarking, and synthesis of emerging technologies, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and business needs to build fluency and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation in processes, tools, and best practices

Strategic Planning, Portfolio Management, Reporting

  • Collaborate with executive leadership in the development and refinement of the IT organization’s strategic and operating plan.

  • Leverage consulting expertise to drive efficiency and effectiveness in strategic planning and portfolio management processes; apply a strategic lens to prioritize and optimize the organization's portfolio of projects.

  • Oversee strategic portfolio management, aligning projects and initiatives with organizational objectives.

  • Partner with Finance and HR to manage and optimize budgets for strategic initiatives; ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Support the management and facilitation of the team’s Management Operating System. Craft reports and communications to convey business impact of the organization’s initiatives

Risk and Change Management:

  • Utilize expertise in risk and change management to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with emerging technologies and strategic initiatives.

  • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions and successful adoption of new tools and processes.

Consulting and Advisory Role:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations based on consulting expertise.

  • Apply advanced lean-agile and strategic management principles to incorporate organizational excellence in recommendations



  • Strong business acumen in the industrial assets domain (oil, gas, utilities, manufacturing, life sciences) with record of delivering business outcomes through emerging technologies (data warehouse, SaaS, IOT, AI, etc) to digitize end to end processes in alignment with business strategy

  • Experience at the global enterprise and business unit leadership level with multiple digital transformation programs, developing business transformation strategies, building delivery organizations, and implementing cross functional governance to drive business outcomes

  • 10+ years of Agile project delivery and product lifecycle management (PLM) leadership experience in developing hybrid software applications, new product implementations (NPI), and information technology/operational technology (IT/OT integrations) to digitize business processes


  • Working knowledge of cloud computing (SaaS), TOGAF archtiectures, Lean Six Sigma, Cybersecurity, and data management

  • Experience in strategic and resource planning; working knowledge and advanced certifications in Lean-Agile, Six Sigma,

  • Project, and Portfolio Management

  • Proven ability in cross-functional collaboration, risk and change management

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
