Job Description:

As the Leader of Operational Markets, you will be responsible for transforming the locations and teams where we have operational teams, with no commercial presence. These teams are strategically important for Sage from a Product delivery perspective and must thrive and change according to the strategic workforce plans for the Global Product Organization (GPO). This role will be the custodial leader for all colleagues in India, as a priority, with the potential to expand into other Sage locations in the future.

The Leader, Operational Markets - GPO will be accountable for the vision and strategy for India, which will enable our colleagues to thrive. This is a key role in delivering a significant proportion of our product roadmaps and is pivotal in our ambition to become a great SaaS company.

You will indirectly lead a team of Product experts to deliver product roadmaps and execute and govern implementation plans which will support the Divisions to drive innovation. This role is an opportunity for a business technology professional with proven leadership capability to keep these operational locations and/or markets connected and successful in their evolution.

This is a newly created role, and the first requirement will be to adopt the GPO growth and change strategy, to reach their full potential. This will involve collaboration across the business to develop a deep understanding of our product portfolio and our customer value propositions. Our business planning process looks 3 years ahead, and this person will be expected to anticipate opportunities and partnerships which will support the delivery of the business plan through this time horizon.

Key Responsibilities:

Understand the vision and strategy for Sage’s strategy and products, internally and externally.

· In partnership with the Division leaders, enable the delivery of product roadmaps and their end-to-end effectiveness

· Supports collaborative relationships with core and 3rd party integration development partners

· Drive monthly interlocks with key stakeholders in the functions and segments

· Be the voice and carry the mission of Sage’s Operational sites inside and outside Sage

· People Leadership:

o Input into all aspects of people leadership, including talent attraction, engagement, development, succession planning, performance management, diversity, equality & inclusion, wellbeing and reward.

o Enable colleague success, and achieve outstanding performance on every key measure through leading, motivating, and inspiring colleagues , in accordance with Sage’s leadership standards and cultural blueprint

· Drive visibly high levels of collaboration and engagement across peer group and the Product Leadership Team.

· Define and operationalise requirements for business operations in partnership with IT function

· Own any actions related to risk assessments or audits.

· Ensures the Operational teams fully align with the overall Sage Operating Model and Governance and Risk management approach.

Skills, know-how and experience: Must have:

· General management experience, with strong collaboration across cross-functional multi-national/cultural teams; excellent stakeholder manager with ability to navigate and execute in a global matrix

· Inspirational, thoughtful and inclusive leader, with outstanding communication, interpersonal, influencing, presenting, mentoring, coaching, motivational, objection handling and conflict resolution skills.

· Proven experience in building great and high performing cultures which enable colleague success

· Adept leader of an operational product delivery engine that delivers targeted propositions of differing types to selected geographies

· Proven track record of owning transformation plans

· Passion for technology including Cloud, Social, Mobile and Analytics in B2B space – external knowledge in these areas remains up to date

· A unique blend of business and technical savvy; ability to set a big-picture vision, with the drive to turn vision into reality

· Experience in delivering customer and colleague success.

· Ability to balance must-have requirements with timelines. Product Road mapping and roadmap management and tools, requirements management and tools

· Ability to think conceptually and strategically

· Resourceful · Budget management experience

· Significant operational experience in a similar or relevant role

· M&A experience – acquisition, JV and disposal (desirable)

· Fluent English – additional languages would be advantageous
