THE ROLE: Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Account at Legends Global Merchandise will be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly functions in the areas of Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Freight Analysis, Month End, Royalties, and Sales Tax. A successful person in this role will possess technical knowledge, communication and organization skills and will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a team leader.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to step into any A/R or A/P function as needed.

  • Assist with the month end closing process. Including the recording of journal entries and adjustments as well as the preparation of account reconciliations and supporting work papers.

  • Assist in Sales Tax Reporting/Filing as well as researching and maintaining business licenses as required by individual states.

  • Assist in Fixed Asset Management.

  • Complete Freight Analysis and recognize expense weekly. Reconcile Freight Expense monthly.

  • Assist in Sales Reconciliation and Recognition process.

  • Assist in Employee Expense Reimbursement and Reconciling employee expenses through Concur (or similar) platform.

  • Assist in Cash Management, including reconciling bank accounts.

  • Assist other team members on difficult tasks, aid in problem solving.

  • Assist with various tasks within the Finance Department

  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and/or financial management

  • Intermediate or advanced MS Excel (ability to perform complex functions)

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook is required.

  • Strong attention to detail required

  • Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue

  • Solid Management, motivational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • A positive, upbeat and professional attitude and strong work ethic

  • You must be self-motivated and a team player

  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and take on new tasks

  • Superb verbal/written communications and organizational skills
