Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a trusted client in La Jolla, CA. This contract or contract-to-hire opportunity is perfect for a skilled finance and accounting professional with a knack for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and streamlining processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining accurate records of financial transactions.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure financial accuracy.

  • Monitor and track company expenses, preparing reports for management as needed.

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounts are balanced.

  • Prepare accurate financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting purposes.

  • Support payroll processing and tax filings, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and actively implement solutions to streamline workflows.

    Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience; familiarity with small business accounting is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) are a bonus.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Understanding of GAAP principles, payroll, and tax preparation is a plus.
