Under general supervision and instruction this position performs
technical duties in the maintenance, repair andcustodial care of
assigned buildings.Qualifications/Knowledge:High school diploma or GED,
current valid driver\'s license Must have 1 to 2 years experience in a
related field Knowledge of facilities maintenance principles and
practices Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and electrical maintenance
principles Knowledge of carpentry principles and custodial maintenance

interpreting maps, drawings and specifications Skill in the use of hand

written communicationEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs
preventive maintenance on county buildings; inspects buildings to
determine maintenance and repair needs Maintains and repairs electrical
systems; replaces or repairs switches, receptacles and electrical
controls Maintains plumbing systems; repairs or replaces fixtures, pipes
and drainage systems; installs plumbing in new or remodeled buildings
Maintains HVAC systems; repairs or replaces drain lines, filters and
electrical components; troubleshoots electrical components Assists with
carpentry and other maintenance repairs as needed; installs sheetrock
and drop ceiling Assists in coordinating the work of outside contractors
Directs the work of inmate laborers Operates a variety of equipment,
including forklift, excavator, etc Responds to after-hours emergencies
Performs all other related duties as assigned
