Provide leadership and development of an elite competitive swim program. Develop technical, tactical, physical, and psychological training program. Provide instruction and coaching services to assigned Badger team members. Create and administer a seasonal plan for teams including meet selection, goal setting and preparation. Perform coach's duties at all swimming meets including supervision of warm-up, making sure swimmers get to their races, and provide feedback for all races. Supervise coaching assignments and instruction including staffing to confirm coaching attendance remain consistent with approved budget, make sure practices are neither over staffed nor under-staffed. Prepare meet entries for assigned swimmers. Assist as needed in setting up and running any home meets, including getting parent volunteers. Maintain attendance and confirm billing records, entry fees, registration and other paperwork and records necessary for the age group programs. Set practice schedules, practice groups, and criteria for advancement from group to group for the entire Badger program. Facilitate individual age-appropriate goal setting processes with all swimmers. Determine all individual and relay events for athletes at swim meets; or review those selected by other coaching staff. Make sure the entries are appropriate for the swimmers conditioning and goals. Direct, educate, supervise and instruct all coaches for swimmers aged 14 and under; oversee programs for age groups 12 & 14's as well as consult with age groups 10's, 8's and noncompetitive 10's to confirm continuity and progress within the Badger age group system. Speak with parents of swimmers with questions or concerns. Make sure swimmers and parents understand the goals of the season and the program as a whole, as well as the importance of practices and meets. Identify appropriate candidates to move up to the Senior team and prepare those swimmers, mentally and physically, for the transition. Assess form, skill, and stamina of each individual swimmer. Instruct individuals and teams on competition rules, good sportsmanship, competitive spirit, and teamwork skills.
