RESPONSIBILITIESReceives clean linen from laundry vendor and organizes
in linen store room as per standard room set-up.Collects soiled linen
from departments/designated areas and transports to central collection
area.Cleans assigned area in accordance with established
procedures.Manages in-house linen inventory levels for each
department.Counts all linen on unit carts and replenishes items to
correct PAR levels.Loads inventory on linen carts to be distributed to
the units.Interfaces professionally and effectively with staff;
leadership, nurses, nurse managers, clinicians, etc.Maintains the
orderliness and cleanliness of the inventory room at all times,
including dusting, wet mopping and light scrubbing of the floors.Handles
all routine duties and special calls for linen.Ensures equipment is in
good working order.Ensures proper infection control procedures are
followed.May train and orient new employees as required.Practices proper
safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies
and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical
equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor
injury-accident to Manager.Other duties as assigned by
supervision.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION
REQUIREDHigh School diploma or equivalentBasic knowledge in use of
computers and ability to learn appropriate software applications.Ability
to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.Demonstrates
excellent customer service skills.Ability to operate computerized
inventory system.Ability to use hand-held scanner to issue and track
inventory.Able to react calmly under stressful conditions.Able to relate
cooperatively and constructively with clients and co-work complex
problems.Ability to work independently, using judgment and problem
solving skills as necessary to resolve customer service issues, order
discrepancies, and as otherwise necessary in the performance of
