School Administrator - Aurora Brambles
Location: Leyland, nr Preston, Lancashire
Salary: £11.00 - £11.30 per hour depending on experience (plus 13% holiday pay)
Hours: Flexible / casual hours available
Aurora Brambles School is an independent day school in Lancashire providing specialist education for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).
What is bank/casual work?
Our bank staff usually cover staff sickness, holiday and busy periods and they are able to choose what days they want to work, giving them a great deal of flexibility.
The main purpose of the role:
To support the efficient and effective running of school administration, including a wide range of areas such as Finance, General and Pupil Administration, HR, Facilities and Site Maintenance, ICT, health and Safety, Housekeeping and Catering.
Key Duties
Working both independently and effectively as part of the Administrative and Support Team to provide an excellent administrative support service.
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships in contributing to the delivery of an efficient support service
This may include but is not exhaustive:
Preparing, collating and editing reports in respect of all aspects of School Administration and Support
Maintaining and updating manual and computerised records.
Organising and facilitating events
Support the induction of new staff to the school
To provide support to the recruitment and onboarding processes of staff.
To provide support for HR to include sickness absence reporting and keeping training records up to date

Experience and skills required:
Experience of working in a school environment desirable
Excellent organisation skills: ability to work in a busy and demanding environment
Ability to work independently and effectively without supervision for longer periods of time and prioritise workload
Ability to be discreet and protect confidentiality
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C to include English and Maths).
Must have excellent computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Powerpoint and ability to use range of databases once trained
