JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position provides instruction within
the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine
Shelter Medicine Program\'s (UWSMP) Maddie\'s Shelter Medicine Teaching
and Training Programs. This position will provide teaching to veterinary
students, interns and residents (if applicable) through clinical
training, didactic teaching in rounds, and clinical outreach. Clinical
training and outreach currently occur at Dane County Humane Society
(DCHS) and in communities where UWSMP is providing access to care
services. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include teaching
and supervising students, interns, and residents (if applicable) on
life-saving practices and procedures; training students, interns, and
residents to find and examine multiple solutions to the problems that
shelter animals and communities might face; pursuing excellence in the
clinical skills of trainees; and supporting other educational aspects of
the program as needed. UWSMP has a close partnership with DCHS and the
Clinical Instructor must effectively collaborate with shelter
veterinarians and other staff to represent UWSMP and work successfully
within the shelters? practices to uphold this partnership. The Clinical
Instructor will coordinate and lead UWSMP Community House Calls Program,
which involves weekly veterinary house call appointments arranged by
local partners and engage with development of trainee involvement in
other access to care programs. The Clinical Instructor will primarily be
working at DCHS, with some occasional travel expected. The Clinical
Instructor will also participate in various administrative
responsibilities pertaining to Maddie\'s Teaching and Training Programs,
including recruiting, scheduling, providing trainee feedback, grading,
work tracking and other operational activities related to the success of
trainee programs and meeting grant funding expectations. This position
will assist UWSMP Director with implementation and continued development
of trainee programs to ensure program goals are being met for both the
