Job Summary – K–6 Elementary Teacher:

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Elementary Teacher (Grades K–6) to join our team. This full-time role includes both classroom teaching and departmental support responsibilities, such as coverage and administrative assistance. Candidates should have a strong commitment to student success, a passion for direct instruction, and a desire to work in a structured, high-achieving academic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily classroom schedule, environment, and instruction

  • Maintain consistent classroom behavior expectations using the school’s 4:1 Positive Feedback Model

  • Deliver high-quality lessons using Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge curricula

  • Track and document lesson implementation and student progress daily; submit weekly updates to the Professional Development Coordinator

  • Provide weekly feedback on curriculum implementation to inform instructional improvement

  • Participate in all required professional development sessions

  • Attend weekly grade-level team meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and bi-monthly staff meetings

  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, as needed

  • Implement IEP and 504 accommodations and complete all required documentation

  • Prepare and deliver four progress reports and four report cards annually for homeroom and specialty class students, as well as any academic group students

  • Conduct four parent-teacher conferences annually (two in the fall, two in the spring)

  • Participate in school-wide events such as Back to School Night, Open Houses, Holiday Performances, and the High School Senior Luncheon

  • Fulfill assigned morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon duty responsibilities

  • Support and uphold all MVRCS policies, expectations, and procedures

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Teacher or school leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective problem-solving and data analysis abilities

  • Understanding of state and federal educational regulations and school policies

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated classroom management and instructional leadership skills

  • Commitment to professional growth and student achievement

  • Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment

This is a full-time, annually appointed position that is subject to yearly performance evaluations.
