Who We Are
Founded in 1971, Clifton Steel Company (the Company) is a nationally recognized leader in the manufacturing of military armor plate and commercial specialty steel products. Clifton has served the armor plate market for over thirty years and is the premier industry supplier of many of its commercial products. The Company is a specialist in abrasion and impact resistant steel fabrication, particularly for quenched and tempered alloy and manganese steel. As a result of investments in production capabilities, access to critical materials and strong customer relationships, Clifton has established a defensible and sustainable market position. We are currently hiring for the position of Burner on first shift.
*Job Duties: *
- Must have the ability to operate an Overhead Crane
- Ability to read & understand/Ability to learn; basic production drawings
- Review drawings, layout, tolerances and job packet to determine piece count, grade of material, thickness, length, width, blueprints and special instructions.
- Load/Unload plates and cut pieces using an Overhead Crane and/or Tow Motor to/from burning table.
- Operate burning machine and perform first article inspection measurement/process on jobs
- Execute daily burning workload provided by Supervisor and schedules while meeting or surpassing daily metrics daily and weekly production metrics
- Mark, tag and skid parts per job instructions provided by Engineering
- Assist in maintaining an inventory accuracy and traceability through means, but not limited to; Plate inventory tag, REM size verification, proper color coding
- Proper disposal of scrap by proper execution of guidelines provided. Dispose of scrap into properly marked scrap containers 3.10 Operator is required to mark the grain direction on parts that are burned.
- Employee must participate and become actively engaged in the Company Traction & L10 Process
- Tow Motor/Lift Truck experience is prefered, but not required
*Qualifications: *
- Previous experience operating a burning machine is preferred
- Tow motor experience is preferred
- Overhead crane experience is preferred
