Title and Summary

Senior Specialist, Business Development

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Account Management

o Serve as the primary point of contact for financial institutions and local/state governments in the public sector.

o Design and execute account strategies aligned with Mastercard's business objectives, ensuring the achievement of annual client plans.

o Monitor the financial performance of assigned accounts, including P&L management, profitability modeling, and financial forecasting.

• Business Development and Sales Strategy

o Identify growth opportunities within existing and new accounts, promoting innovative payment solutions.

o Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives and projects that strengthen client relationships.

o Support the execution of marketing campaigns, advertising, and product management initiatives aimed at enhancing public sector engagement.

• Client and Stakeholder Relationships

o Maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a strategic partner and providing tailored recommendations based on data analysis and market trends.

o Participate in high-level discussions with decision-makers both internally and externally.

o Coordinate with internal teams (sales, product, finance) to ensure comprehensive support for clients and alignment with regional objectives.

• Project Management

o Lead small to medium-sized projects from conception to implementation, ensuring delivery within established timelines and budgets.

o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular reports on progress, risks, and outcomes.

Requirements and Experience

• Professional Experience

o 3-5 years of experience in financial services, payments, cards, or related fields.

o Familiarity with the public sector and its specific dynamics and challenges (preferred).

o Experience working in collaborative environments, including customer site visits and corporate facilities.

• Knowledge and Skills

o Strong ability to interpret financial indicators and manage the P&L of strategic accounts.

o Advanced skills in data analysis to develop profitability models, financial forecasts, and competitive analyses.

o Ability to understand, adapt, and implement Mastercard’s sales framework to meet the needs of clients and assigned accounts.

• Core Competencies

o Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.

o Proficiency in project management and cross-functional team coordination.

o Analytical problem-solving skills to influence account strategies.
