Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Senior Accountant role with a Minden based professional services firm. The person in this role will have a variety of accounting responsibilities including bank reconciliations, journal entries, asset capitalization, depreciation, work in progress, start up costs, etc. This person will also be the point person for all things tax related. To include setting up tax files for final review by other employees, reviewing all financial reports for project management of tax returns, being the liaison with the external CPA firm to answer tax accounting procedure questions, track and process and schedule K1's, review all completed tax returns and enter adjusting journal entries from tax prep.
The position requires a BS Degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of related experience. The position does not require tax specific experience, but an interest in tax is helpful. • A BS Degree in Accounting and a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with at least 2 years in a senior-level role.
• Expertise in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software tools.
• Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with K-1 preparation and tax return workflows.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities to effectively liaise with external tax professionals and internal teams.
