As a key member of the Scrum Team, the Product Owner holds ultimate accountability for articulating the vision of the product, representing the voice of the customer, and delivering experiences that add value to the business. Product Owner will oversee the product team and development teams allocated to their product. They collaborate across delivery and product teams to mitigate dependencies and establish enterprise-wide standards & best practices. The Product Owner bridges the gap between business and technology by collaborating with the Product Manager, department leadership, and all key stakeholders to define and prioritize new and existing features and capabilities in the roadmap and capture requirements for the delivery team. This position can be remote (US) or hybrid. #LI-Remote #LI-HybridCheck out our video Saving Lives: It's the Best Job EverACCOUNTABILITIES:Develops and Manages Product Relationships:Creates a shared vision and strategic plan for their product in collaboration with the Product Manager, sponsors, and all key stakeholders.Represents leadership and sponsor's interests to the product team, in alignment with business strategies, organizational initiatives, and enterprise needs.Partners with Product Manager to set annual development priorities and define initiatives that encompass goals and support Human Resources Systems.Manages the iterative & incremental delivery of value to internal & external users.Leads and Maintains Product Delivery:Owns the quarterly roadmap & release plan.Delivers and accounts for planned & unplanned work (bugs, defects, patches).Leads backlog refinement and makes decisions to prioritize development work. Delivers highest business value and ROI.Leads the planning and product release plans and sets expectations for delivery of new functionalities.Plays an active role in delivery team ceremonies, including planning, demos, and retrospectives.Consistently communicates status updates and delivery progress, including sprint & release communication as it relates to their product.Evaluates iterative delivery of product.Adheres to release deployment and critical incident processes to maximize overall system stability and uptime across the enterprise.Actively engages with the stakeholders, promptly responding to questions and making decisions necessary to maintain optimal velocity and delivery cadence.Has and creates a deep understanding of business needs impacting their product, aware of technology trends, and evaluating potentially beneficial third-party solutions.Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to:Work within Scrum methodologies for highly successful teams.Communicate with excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate business and technology concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.Possess a strong personal work ethic with a drive to deliver excellent customer service, with a commitment to quality and continual improvement.Solve complex problems and decision-making skills; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.Manage multiple priorities, including negotiation, delegation and conflict resolution skills.Maintain confidentiality related to information and records management.Understand connections between multiple applications in a federated enterprise architecture.Accommodate infrequent travel, approximately once per quarter.As required, work extended hours to meet deadlines or cover after hour's product releases.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or another related field preferred. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement.Two years previous experience as a product owner or related role.Four years' experience with defining and prioritizing requirements in an Agile environment.Background in working in HRIS environmentsPreferred Qualifications: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)Experience working in a highly-integrated technical environmentAbility to own multiple inter-related products with distinct user basesExperience in a non-profit and clinical research environments.Healthcare, science related fields.
