Treasury Wine Estates Enologist, Etude Winery in Napa, California

Etude Wines is dedicated to mastering the craft of winegrowing. Etude specializes in Estate grown Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as Pinot Noir from other appellations which include Santa Rita Hills, Sonoma Coast and Yamhill-Carlton(OR). Etude also sources Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley.

About the Role

This role supports the premium winemaking team across both the winemaking and cellar team, which may include:

  • assisting in harvest planning

  • tracking and scheduling blends/blending

  • monitoring inventory and maintaining integrity

  • writing JDE Blend operations

  • requesting and monitoring inter-winery wine shipments/samples

  • tracking winemaking material needs.

  • Ensure analysis is up to date. Confirm data entry with Laboratory & Wine Info.

  • Request and secure samples for preparation of trial blends as required.

  • Track fermentations and blends in TankNet and VinoEZ.

  • Work with Wine Info to reconcile and track inventory.

  • Generate wine data sheets.

  • Assist in NPD work as assigned. Work with winemakers to reconcile downstream inventory issues.

  • Organize and participate in inventory tastings

About You

  • You have a Bachelors degree (BS) in viticulture / enology from a four-year college or university and prior winery experience.

  • You have a strong understanding of the winemaking process and a track record of reading, interpreting, and integrating wine laboratory analysis into recommendations and decision-making process.

  • You also have experience in preparing lab blends for winemaker evaluation and setting up and preparing fining trials for winemaker evaluation.

  • You or organized, like to work in a collaborative environment and able to balance multiple winemaking demands by taking ownership.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $25.96 to $28.85 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of Napa, CA. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
