Duties: The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz welcomes applications for the role of Assistant Athletics Trainer in the department of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation. This position holds an 11-month part-time obligation with a full month of defined periods to equate to one month of recess during the year, contingent upon operating need. Under the direction of the Director of Sports Medicine , the Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the development and the implementation of programs for the prevention of injuries to student-athletes, administer first aid and emergency medical care, and administer rehabilitation for injuries. Duties may also include, but are not limited to, maintaining accurate and detailed injury and treatment reports, as well as developing strong and healthy working relationships with Athletic Department and Student Health Services staff.
Qualifications: Required:• Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training or related fields• NATABOC certification• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
Preferred:• Master of Science in Athletic Training or related fields• Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist
