The Department of Social Services Accountability Office (DSS-AO) is responsible for supporting the integrity of social services programs administered by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA), Department of Social Services (DSS) and Department of Homeless Services (DHS). AO maintains the operation of the Office of Audit Services (OAS) and Office of Quality Assurance (OQA), Special Investigations Division (SID), Office of Accountability Strategies (OAS), Compliance and Contract Monitoring (CCM), Investigation, Revenue and Enforcement Administration (IREA), Office of Data Security Management (ODSM) and the Vendor Monitoring Office (VMO).
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Claims & Recovery (SNAP-CR) is a revenue producing, federally mandated program within HRA by which SNAP overpayment evaluations are processed in accordance with City, State and Federal regulations. The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) regulations require that an overpayment evaluation be performed on all households that may have received more SNAP benefits than the amount to which they were entitled. SNAP-CR is tasked with the evaluation and development of all potential Cash Assistance (CA) and Non-Cash Assistance (NCA) SNAP overpayments. This unique department not only establishes claim overpayments, recovery overpayments but also implements and lifts SNAP sanctions.
The Office of Revenue is recruiting for (1) Clerical Associate III to function as a(n) Clerical Associate, who will:
Prepare case folders and documents by reviewing copying, scanning and indexing case/agency documents for imaging.
Retrieve data from the Welfare Management System Computer database (WMS), NYCWAY, and HRA Viewer and make printouts when necessary to process appropriate case actions.
Receive requests for supplies from all units in SNAP CR. Deliver supplies to the different project areas.
Maintain the inventory of supplies on hand and assures adequate supplies are maintained. Assist in the receipt of location supplies from central warehouse. Ensure copy machines are adequately stocked daily.
Sort and distribute incoming intra office mail by opening envelopes, determining appropriate recipient and stamping mail with dates received. Deliver and retrieve inter office mail for the units.
Ensure that outgoing mail for unit is placed in the proper receptacle for distribution and/or distributes mail.
Control and decontrol case assignments received from the project areas. Maintain records and logs of all items submitted for processing.
Maintain supplies and Stockroom and perform messenger duties when needed.
Work Location: 375 Pearl Street
Hours/Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9 am to 5 pm.

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
