Paramount Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing in New York, New York

Paramount Global Sourcing is seeking a Senior Director to support the Professional Services indirect spend category! They will be responsible for the development and execution of enterprise-wide sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories within Human Resources, with tangential responsibilities in Finance and Legal professional services sourcing. Equally important is the ability to identify, analyze, and quantify opportunities, lead and/or support RFPs. This position will also manage vendor negotiations, manage contract editing and negotiation, and build category strategy for HR Services and Total Rewards Categories. These categories include, but are not limited to Life Insurance, Medical/Pharmacy Benefits and Insurance, Dental Insurance, Corporate Insurance, Risk Management and Total Reward Wellness Benefits. The role will collaborate closely with cross functional business partners and suppliers to achieve high quality and high value supply of service, with advantaged economics for Paramount Global business initiatives. This role will report to a senior executive within the Professional Services Sourcing Team. This person will be in charge of maintaining up to date status of initiatives with critical functional HR partners, status of market and industry happenings to craft category strategy, and completion of Sourcing action to satisfy the needs of the business as related to the professional services of Human Resources and Total Rewards. The Senior Director will have one to two direct reports, within Professional Services that will lead HR Operational sourcing analysis and sourcing diligence, and sourcing within consultant services.

Overview and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities may include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Leverage e-Business tools, spend data, and all other tools/resources available to identify actionable cost-saving opportunities within the assigned spend categories.

  • Lead competitive bidding processes, in entirety, across high-impact spend categories

  • Partner and vendor engagement and ongoing support

  • Strategy design, development, and execution

  • Contract negotiation planning and execution

  • Vendor onboarding and program implementation

  • Lead 1-2 Direct Reports at Manager/Sr. Manager level of Sourcing expertise in setting smaller category strategies, partnering in Total Rewards and HR category strategies, and setting overall direction and accountability within direct reports on to delivery of savings opportunities and sourcing strategy.

  • Level-set, analyze and build competitive bidding proposals to support and prepare recommendations for executive-level decision-making.

  • Recommend new sourcing strategies, process improvements and supplier relationship framework for the enterprise.

  • Partner & cultivate strong supplier relationships that deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation.

  • Manage detailed negotiations and relationships with suppliers, in collaboration with cross-functional leadership, management, legal and other partners.

  • Support and steer development of sound legal contracts that translate supplier offerings, RFP outcomes, and negotiation results into new agreements, amendments, renewals, or terminations to ensure protection and advancement of Paramount Globals interests.

  • Manage ongoing quality improvement, including evaluation of supplier performance, hosting ongoing reviews with internal partners, and staying abreast of market trends, supplier intelligence and other pertinent information.

  • Leverage industry & market intelligence sources to inform on market position, frame negotiation planning, build competitive landscapes, and deliver risk guidance.

  • Contribute to Paramounts diversity and sustainability commitments through consideration of these areas during supplier selection and negotiation, as well as in ongoing supplier relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA a plus.

  • 12+ years experience in sourcing or business-related field with a record of increased responsibility and work complexity.

  • Previous experience with Ariba and spend/reporting tools (i.e., Tableau, SpendHQ, etc.)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in high impact spend categories, such as health & welfare employee benefits, insurance programs, and financial services, and familiarity with applicable laws and market trends.

  • Strong alignment and collaboration skills to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior management both internally and externally.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a particular emphasis on data quality and integrity, to support sound and objective decision-making.

  • Ability to influence and drive measurable change to purchasing behavior across the varying business units.

  • Ability to negotiate, manage and complete complex, long-term contracts, and short-term consulting engagements.

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in interacting with internal customers and external suppliers.

  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.

  • High proficiency or mastery of Excel and other Microsoft applications.

  • An eagerness to learn, personable demeanor, and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively amongst colleagues, and across all levels of management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $156,800.00 - 163,800.00.The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is bonus eligible.
