THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, your duties will include inspecting properties to identify the pesky tree of heaven and other host species. You will possess a keen eye to determine insect pest activities and utilize cutting edge geo-location technology to map and inventory treatment areas. You will also be responsible for prescribing the best tree removal and disposal methods to ensure the safety of our communities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a full-time limited term position with benefits that will expire May 31, 2024. The position will be reviewed annually prior to expiration date and will be extended if funding is available to support the position.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of technical forestry experience, and an associate’s degree in forest technology, forestry, forest management, forest ecosystem management, urban forestry, forest science, agroforestry, or a related forestry degree;or
A bachelor’s degree in forest technology, forestry, forest management, forest ecosystem management, urban forestry, forest science, agroforestry, or a related forestry degree;or
A master’s degree in forest technology, forestry, forest management, forest ecosystem management, urban forestry, forest science, agroforestry, or a related forestry degree.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Necessary Special Requirement:
Possession of a valid PA non- commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaived for this title.
