THE POSITION

The Roadway Programs Technician 1 position is currently open, and the Department of Transportation is actively looking for candidates to fill it. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various support functions within the district 1 Office Maintenance Unit. These functions encompass coordinating Reimbursable Activities Reports (RAR), managing surplus inventory, generating inventory usage reports, and overseeing the Stockpile Inventory. Additionally, you will provide backup support to the Roadway Management Systems (RMS) coordinator, which includes working with the STAMPP program. As part of your responsibilities, you will also assist the Roadway Programs Manager (RPM) in analyzing data related to maintenance activities programs and costs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role involves offering support to county organizations through investigating issues and addressing inquiries from employees. Communication with the Central Office is necessary to address SAP-related concerns. Routine tasks are managed internally or directed to the appropriate departments, while more intricate issues are escalated to the supervisor for resolution. The supervisor conducts a review of the work upon its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant ; or

  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent ; or

  • An associate's degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program ; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.
